De Minaur squeaks into Beijing last eight
Australia's Alex de Minaur clawed past Arthur Rinderknech to reach the China Open quarter-finals, winning a tight contest 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-2) in Beijing.

De Minaur has earned an ATP Tour-leading 33 hard-court wins this year and has now captured 15 victories at ATP 500 events in 2025.
Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 17, has earned more.
De Minaur, who won the title at the ATP 500 in Washington in July, is now eighth in the ATP rankings, occupying the final qualification spot for the ATP year-end Turin tournament.
The 26-year-old is aiming to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals for the second consecutive year.
Next up in Beijing, he will meet No.7 seed Jakub Mensik after the Czech beat Frenchman Arthur Cazaux 6-3 2-6 6-4 in their clash.
