Joint beats another top player to make third round
Australia's Maya Joint beat No.18 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia in three tight sets to move into the third round a the Cincinnati Open.

The win was the 19-year-old's third career win over a top 30 player as her rise continues on the WTA Tour, having won her maiden WTA Tour titles at Eastbourne and Morocco earlier this year.
Joint dropped just five games against Greet Minnen in the first round at Cincinnati and now faces another top 30 players in Ekaterina Alexandrova, who is seeded No.12.
