The Czech needed one hour and 21 minutes to take the victory and level up the head-to-head to 4-4 between the two, earning a huge confidence boost ahead of the All England Championships.
"I didn’t play for a long time," Vondrousova, who missed three months of the season with a shoulder injury, said.
"I’m just happy to be back healthy, and so grateful to play these matches.
"When I saw the field here, I was like, ‘OK, let’s just try to win the first round’, and then, you know, now this is happening."
Vondrousova was an unlikelt winner when she claimed the Wimbledon title two years ago, and indeed Berlin is her fist final on the WTA Tour since that gigantic win.
She will play Wang Xinyu for the title after the Chinese beat Liudmila Samsonova 6-4 6-1 in their semi-final.
It will be Wang's first final on the WTA Tour, and the first meeting between the pair.
