Bayonne climbs off the bottom
Bayonne climbed off the foot of the Top 14 table courtesy of a battling 16-13 victory over Toulouse at Stade Jean Dauger.
Toulouse led 10-0 after 21 minutes, but a Julien Jane try and four successful kicks from Manu Saubusse turned the tide in favour of the host.
Saubusse's third penalty, on 46 minutes, ultimately proved decisive, although Bayonne almost saw its slender lead wiped out in the closing seconds.
Visiting replacement Samuel Marques mustered the required accuracy with a long-range three-point attempt, but his kick did not reach the posts and Bayonne was therefore able to celebrate a second straight win that lifts it above Grenoble.
the day's other fixture saw Stade Francais edge out Montpellier 21-17, despite being outscored two tries to none.
Seven penalties from Jules Plisson earned a deserved win for Stade, which was generally in the ascendancy either side of Joe Tomane and Timoci Nagusa crossing in the space of five second-half minutes.
Stade climb two places to 10th, while its beaten opponent remains fourth.
