Dyche: Forest 'looking at options in various positions' before transfer window closes
Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a strong recent run in the Premier League, and Sean Dyche wants more strength in depth going forward.
Sean Dyche is confident Nottingham Forest are "looking at options in various positions" as they aim to keep building on their recent momentum.
Forest are currently 17th in the Premier League, five points above the drop zone, and are 16th in the Europa League, though they have confirmed at least a play-off place.
They do still have a slim chance of qualifying in the top eight, sitting just three points behind sixth place, but would need to beat seventh-place Ferencvaros and hope other results go in their favour.
But Dyche, who oversaw a 1-0 loss to Braga in their last Europa League game, is still keen to strengthen in the transfer market, with the current window set to close on February 2.
After John Victor's season-ending injury, Forest have been linked with Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa, though Dyche was quick to point out that they are looking for reinforcements all over the pitch.
"I've said to you all along, the club is a trading club, and they always make it clear to me that we're looking at options in various positions," Dyche said in his press conference ahead of facing Ferencvaros.
"Full-back's one of them with the left-back situation as much as anything. We're trying to be proactive and strengthen where we can and when we can.
"[Nicola] Savona has got a knee situation. We don't think it's too serious at this time, but we've got to check it out. So, he's unlikely to be featuring."
This is the first meeting between Forest and Ferencvaros, and Forest's first game against a Hungarian side.
Dyche's side have looked strong at home in Europe recently, with his side winning their last two matches at the City Ground in the Europa League.
But while Ferencvaros have lost six of their nine away major European matches in England, the Hungarian side are unbeaten in their seven outings in this season's Europa League (W4 D3).
Dyche, however, is more than ready for the test Forest face in their final league-phase game of the campaign.
"We want to do well in the Premier League, and they're two big competitions in different ways," Dyche added.
"But the Premier League is what the club worked so hard to get back in, so that still edges it for me because that's really important to this football club.
"But the European side, because of the old stories and the glamour and the glory. Of course, that's important, especially to the fans as well."
And defender Nikola Milenkovic echoed Dyche's hopes of a strong second half to the season.
"This club has ambitions, we have very big ambitions," he said. "We don't put limits in front of us.
"We're just going game by game, step by step, and let's see how far we can go.
"We want to enjoy every single game in this competition with our fans because, after 30 years, it is a real pleasure to be here and playing in front of our fans in Europe."
