Raphinha faces lengthy spell on Barca sidelines
Raphinha will miss Barcelona's UEFA Champions League double-header against Atletico Madrid after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty that will keep him sidelined for at least five weeks.
The Brazil forward sustained the issue in a 2-1 friendly defeat to France, and Barca has since confirmed the news.
The timing of that injury will come as a big blow to the Blaugrana, who are preparing for a key stretch of their season.
After thrashing Newcastle United 8-3 on aggregate, with Raphinha netting twice in the second leg, Barca has been paired with LaLiga rival Atletico in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Their matches on 9 and 15 April (AEDT) will now come too soon for Raphinha, who will also miss key league games for the LaLiga leader.
If Barca can navigate the Atleti tie without one of its key men, Raphinha will then face a race to be fit for the semi-finals.
The first leg of that potential tie, against either Sporting CP or Arsenal, will be played in the week commencing 17 April.
