Kimpembe and Kvaratskhelia revel in UCL victory
Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe claimed a UEFA Champions League win is worth more to the French side than any other club.
The Ligue 1 champion, which is now also a treble winner this season, emphatically achieved European glory as it thrashed Inter Milan 5-0 at Allianz Arena in the Munich final.
Player of the match Desire Doue scored twice while Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu all got on the scoresheet.
Twenty-nine-year-old Kimpembe, who featured in PSG's defeat to Bayern Munich in the 2020 showpiece, has spent his whole professional career in the French capital and explained why the victory "moved" him.
"The whole club was waiting for this trophy. It's a huge accomplishment. We just have to enjoy the moment," he said.
"Personally, I'm very moved. I've been fighting for years. Winning a Champions League here is worth five elsewhere."
Kvaratskhelia scored the fourth goal of the game, and his third in the competition this season, a new career-high for him in a single edition.
He made the move to Paris from Napoli in the January transfer window, and felt his decision to join PSG was proven to be the right choice.
"It's crazy to say I’m a [UEFA] Champions League winner," Kvaratskhelia said.
"It's crazy emotions today. I think all of the team, we made this together. This is a crazy team. I'm just happy to be one of them.
"I was very happy, I really wanted to come here. [Now] we see it was the right choice."
