Napoli 'keeper Meret lauds Allegri style
Alex Meret said he and his Napoli team-mates hope to give manager Massimiliano Allegri "great satisfaction on the pitch" to repay his faith in the squad.
Allegri was appointed as Napoli boss this summer after Antonio Conte's departure, Allegri having left AC Milan after just one season in charge.
Milan earned 70 points in Serie A last season, ending the campaign outside the top four positions for the first time in the competition with that many points.
The Rossoneri finished fifth in the league last season and missed out on Champions League football, leading to Allegri's exit.
Napoli, meanwhile, failed to defend its Serie A title as it ended the campaign second, behind eventual champion Inter.
Allegri will now look to guide Napoli to the Scudetto, and goalkeeper Meret believes it is working well under the veteran coach.
"Allegri makes us feel good, we鈥檙e working calmly," Meret said.
"We鈥檙e very happy that he鈥檚 our new coach, and we hope to give him great satisfaction on the pitch.
"He places a lot of importance on the technical side, and gives great value to every gesture.
"He鈥檚 reminded us several times that a single gesture done well can change a match, but also a season, and it鈥檚 an aspect we鈥檙e working on a lot."
Allegri has won the Scudetto six times as coach, doing so five times with Juve and once with Milan.
He will look to make a winning start at Napoli, which face Genoa on 22 August in its first game of the season.
