Napoli captain Di Lorenzo extends deal
Giovanni Di Lorenzo has committed his future to Napoli until 2030 after the Serie A giant announced its captain had signed a contract extension.
Di Lorenzo's previous contract was due to expire in two years after penning a five-year extension back in 2023, but he will remain at the club for another four years.
The 33 year-old is into his eighth season with Napoli, having joined the club in a reported €8m deal from Empoli in 2019, and has become a key player for the club.
He has made 307 appearances in all competitions for Napoli, scoring 20 goals and providing 36 assists, helping the Partenopei win four major honours, including two Scudettos.
Napoli began its league campaign with a comfortable win over Genoa, but it was beaten by Como 2-1 thanks to goals from Martin Baturina and Tasos Douvikas.
Napoli's next test comes in the shape of defending Serie A champion Inter, which has begun its title defence with two wins from two against Monza and Cagliari.
