Juric replaces Gasperini as Atalanta head coach
Atalanta has appointed Ivan Juric as its new head coach after Gian Piero Gasperini's departure to Roma.
Gasperini ended his nine-year stay in Bergamo on 31 May and was announced as Roma's new head coach on Saturday (AEST).
Just hours later, Atalanta announced Juric as his replacement on a two-year contract through to June 2027.
The Croatian was sacked by Southampton in April, just one day after its relegation from the Premier League to the EFL Championship was confirmed.
Juric, who had replaced Russell Martin in December, was in charge for only 108 days at the Saints and won only two of his 16 Premier League games in charge, losing 13 others and drawing once.
His appointment sees him return to Italy, where he spent all of his career before joining Southampton.
Overall, Juric has taken charge of 249 Serie A matches.
He most recently spent less than three months in charge at Roma, winning four games, with that job coming after a three-year stay at Torino.
