Gilmour wants Napoli want to change UCL narrative
Napoli has lost its past two UEFA Champions League games, and Billy Gilmour is determined to change the narrative in the competition.
The reigning Serie A champion sits at the summit of Italy's top flight, level on points with second-place Roma.
It is a different story in the UEFA Champions League, however, with Napoli 23rd on the 36-team standings after successive defeats.
After beating Olympiacos in its opening match, Napoli went down 2-0 to Manchester City and then 6-2 to PSV, with Antonio Conte's team seeing a man sent off in each of those defeats.
Gilmour said: "The last game in the [UEFA] Champions League was not at all good, and we know that we want to change the narrative.
"We hope to get out there and immediately prove that Napoli are a great team.
"We really are a strong group, I think you could see that from last season, too.
"The new arrivals have settled in well, both on and off the field, and that team spirit helps us during matches."
Napoli's next UEFA Champions League outing sees it host Eintracht Frankfurt, which was hammered 5-1 by Liverpool last week.
First, though, Conte's teams take on Cesc Fabregas's Como in Serie A.
