Vlahovic spares Juve blushes against relegated Verona
Juventus missed a chance to open up a five-point gap over Como in the Serie A top-four race after being held to a 1-1 draw by already-relegated Hellas Verona.
Verona, whose relegation to Serie B was confirmed by Lecce's win over Pisa, looked set to stun Juventus after taking a first-half lead, but Dusan Vlahovic salvaged a point.
Juventus started brightly, with Jonathan David denied by a brilliant Andrias Edmundsson block before Bremer headed against the crossbar from Pierre Kalulu's delivery.
But the Brazilian defender then gifted Verona the lead in the 34th minute; he comfortably dealt with a ball into the box, only to gift it straight to Domagoj Bradaric, who picked out Kieron Bowie to turn home.
Luciano Spalletti's side came flying out of the blocks in the second half, with David wildly firing over the bar within five minutes of the restart.
But half-time substitute Vlahovic got them back on level terms 62 minutes in with a superb free-kick down the middle, which he curled around the wall to pick out the bottom-left corner.
Lorenzo Montipo made two great saves to keep Francisco Conceicao out as Juventus sought a winner, while Jeremie Boga saw an effort blocked as Verona threw bodies on the line.
Edon Zhegrova had the chance to snatch all three points in stoppage time, but his low strike was tipped onto the post by Montipo, who ensured Verona did not walk away empty-handed.
