Dominant Atalanta forced to settle for a point
Atalanta maintained its unbeaten start to the Serie A season after a goalless draw with Lazio, despite dominating at New Balance Arena.
The spoils were shared in Bergamo, where both teams were generally lacking quality in the final third.
Despite losing Matteo Cancellieri to injury in the first half, Lazio created the first decent chance of the game, with Matteo Guendouzi firing over from 14 yards out.
However, it was Atalanta which looked the more dangerous thereon. Ademola Lookman sent a free header over from six yards out, while Honest Ahanor poked wide from close range.
Ivan Provedel then came to the visitor's rescue with a couple of smart saves to deny Lookman and Nikola Krstovic.
Atalanta continued to push in search of the breakthrough with Davide Zappacosta rattling the woodwork, but it ultimately had to settle for a point.
