Gyokeres has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United after eye-catching performances for Sporting CP in the last two seasons.

Since moving to Lisbon from Coventry City in 2023, the Swede has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting across all competitions.

His current contract runs until June 2028, with a release clause of €100 million ($177.7 million).

Earlier this week, Sporting president Frederico Varandas denied there was a "gentleman's agreement" with the player to allow him to leave for £59 million ($104.9 million).

Varandas added that the only promise to Gyokeres was that the club would not demand his full release clause.

Reports have emerged that Gyokeres is disappointed that Sporting has gone back on its promise, but the 27-year-old appears to have lost interest with the transfer speculation.

"There is a lot of talk at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right," he said on his Instagram page.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus have all reportedly approached Sporting over a potential transfer, but Varandas says that no offers had been made.

Gyokeres scored 39 goals in 33 Primeira Liga appearances last season as he helped Sporting pip Benfica to the title on the final day.

He also finished as the top scorer in the 2024-2025 UEFA Nations League, netting nine goals for Sweden, one more than Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo.
