Ipswich bolsters attack with Emersonn signing
Emersonn has secured a move to the Premier League, signing a five-year deal with newly promoted Ipswich Town from Toulouse.
The 21-year-old Brazilian was also subject to interest from another newly promoted Premier League side, Hull City, but he has penned a five-year contract with the Tractor Boys.
Ipswich has agreed a reported 拢26.6 million ($51.4 million)) deal, including add-ons, with Toulouse.
Emersonn spent just one season with the Ligue 1 club, making 28 appearances and netting six goals in the French top flight.
He finished the campaign as the club's second-highest scorer, while no Toulouse player had more shots on target (19) than him.
"I am very proud to sign for Ipswich Town," Emersonn said.
"Playing in the Premier League is something I have always dreamed of, and I know I have picked the perfect club to do that with.
"I will give everything for the team every time I play, and I can't wait to get started and meet my new team-mates as well as the supporters."
Ipswich, which finished second in the EFL Championship to gain automatic promotion to the Premier League, will face Sunderland at home in its first match of the upcoming season.
