Hurzeler commits to Brighton amid Leverkusen rumours
Fabian Hurzeler has been touted as a possible successor to Kasper Hjulmand at Bayer Leverkusen, but remains totally committed to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Leverkusen only appointed Kasper Hjulmand in September after Erik ten Hag's ill-fated, two-month stint in charge.
But with the Werkself is currently outside the UEFA Champions League qualification places, there have been suggestions they might make another change at the end of this season.
Reports in Germany this week suggested Leverkusen was interested in activating a €15 million ($25.1 million) release clause in Hurzeler's contract with Brighton, which is 10th on the Premier League table.
But the 33-year-old is in no rush to leave England's south coast, with the Seagulls having an opportunity to better last season's eighth-placed finish.
"It's always an honour to be linked with these kinds of rumours, but I'm really happy here at Brighton," he said.
"I'm very thankful for the trust and support the club gives me. We are focused on a strong finish to the season.
"I'm definitely totally committed. There are no other thoughts. In football, there is not always this loyalty and support from a club.
"I really feel trusted and welcomed here. I can express myself and be successful here. There are so many things to play for until the end of the season. That's my only focus."
