Crystal Palace thumps Wolves at jubilant Selhurst Park
Eddie Nketiah scored a brace as Crystal Palace celebrated its FA Cup triumph over Manchester City with an entertaining 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
On a high from seeing Palace win its first major trophy at Wembley Stadium, the jubilant home fans at Selhurst Park were initially quietened when Emmanuel Agbadou's header crossed the line midway through the first half, despite Nketiah's best efforts to block it.
That got the host side going, though, with Nketiah inspiring the comeback. Last summer's £30million signing from Arsenal powered home an equaliser before tapping in Ismaila Sarr's clever cross to make it 2-1 before the break.
That momentum continued after half-time with Ben Chilwell's deflected free-kick nestling in the corner to make it 3-1, though Jorgen Strand Larsen's 62nd-minute header kept Wolves' hopes alive.
But Palace's Wembley hero Eberechi Eze was introduced from the bench to make it 4-2 and ensure the Eagles pushed beyond the 50-point mark for the first time in their Premier League history.
They stay 12th in the table, with Wolves in 14th.
