Bournemouth swoops another Chelsea goalkeeper
After taking Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea last season, Bournemouth has raided the Blues again, this time for another goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic.
Petrovic, who spent last season on loan in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Cherries for a reported £25 million ($51.3 million) fee.
The Serbian made his move to Stamford Bridge in 2023 from New England Revolution and made 23 appearances in the top-flight.
But he starred for Strasbourg in 2024-2025 as it sealed a place in the UEFA Conference League, with Petrovic keeping 10 clean sheets in 31 Ligue 1 outings.
Petrovic joins the Cherries after Arrizabalaga returned to Chelsea this summer after a successful loan spell with Bournemouth last season.
The Spaniard has since joined Arsenal in a reported £5 million ($10.3 million) deal, while Bournemouth also sold back-up goalkeeper Mark Travers to Everton earlier this week.
"I'm really happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow, and I want to play at the best level," Petrovic said.
"Together with this club, with these facilities, I think we can achieve it. I want to help the team get the results, improve every day and be a better player."
Bournemouth will start its 2025-2026 Premier League season away to champion Liverpool on 16 August (AEST).
