Salah bids farewell to departing Alexander-Arnold
Mohamed Salah is sure he will reunite with Trent Alexander-Arnold one way or the other as he wished his Liverpool club-mate all the best for the future.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, with his contract due to expire.
Alexander-Arnold was one of three star players Liverpool had hoped to tie down to new deals, but while Virgil van Dijk and Salah extended their stays at Anfield, the England international is heading for pastures new, with Real Madrid his likely destination.
While Alexander-Arnold accepted his decision will lead to some frustration from Liverpool fans, Salah wishes his soon-to-be former team-mate nothing but the best.
"It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you," the Egyptian posted on social media.
"I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again."
No defender in Premier League history has provided as many assists in the competition as Alexander-Arnold (64).
In all competitions, Alexander-Arnold has provided 92 assists, with 13 of those having set up goals from Salah.
Together, the duo have helped Liverpool to eight honours, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph in 2019.
