Lens slip-up seals incredible finish for Lyon
Lyon sealed an incredible sixth-place finish on the final day of the Ligue 1 season to grab the final Europa League qualifying spot out from under the nose of Lens, which slipped to a 2-2 draw with Montpellier.
Lyon, sitting in last place and without a win in the league by November, completed one of Europe's most remarkable turnarounds to finish the season in sixth, after beating Strasbourg 2-1 on the final day of the campaign.
That win was enough to see Les Gones leapfrog Lens into the Europe positions, after Les Sang et Or squandered a two-goal lead to finish with a 2-2 draw against Montpellier.
