Huddersfield top after stunning opening win
Huddersfield Town finished the opening day of the EFL League One season on top of the table after a rollicking 3-0 win over last year's play-off finalist Leyton Orient that gave new boss Lee Grant a winning start to his tenure.
The woodwork was struck in the opening minutes by both sides as a lively encounter looked on the cards, and after just seven minutes, the first goal was scored.
Terriers new boy Joe Low netted with a free header from Herbie Kane's free-kick, but it was Orient that largely dominated the first period, albeit without reward.
Huddersfield started the second half as brightly as it had the first and doubled the lead soon after the break from the spot after Sean Clare fouled down Ben Wiles, and Alfie May sent Tommy Simkin the wrong way with the spot-kick.
Huddersfield added gloss to the scoreline in stoppage-time when Ruben Roosken fired home from a narrow angle, giving the hosts the perfect start to the new campaign.
