Garcia highlights why he improved at Barcelona
Joan Garcia believes playing in high-pressure matches for Barcelona has helped him become a better goalkeeper.
The 25-year-old joined Barca from rival Espanyol ahead of the 2025-2026 season and went on to make a strong impression for Hansi Flick's side.
Garcia kept the most clean sheets in LaLiga this season, 15 of them in total, as the Blaugrana won the title with three games to spare.
Barca also won the Supercopa de Espana, while it was knocked out in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.
Garcia kept 18 clean sheets across all competitions, but none of those came in the UEFA Champions League.
Barca faced the likes of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and eventual champion Paris Saint-Germain in its European campaign, and Garcia believes he benefits the most from those fixtures.
"The experience of accumulating minutes and playing high-pressure matches makes you improve in every way," Garcia told Spanish local radio.
"They've put me in situations I perhaps wasn't used to on the pitch, and I think I've responded well.
"I've improved my decision-making and my ball distribution. Obviously, I'll still make mistakes, but I'm very happy with this improvement.
"Signing for Barca has helped me get to the [2026 FIFA] World Cup, although you never know what might have happened otherwise."
