Sevilla sacks manager Almeyda amid poor LaLiga run
Sevilla announced the sacking of managerMatias Almeyda amid a run of just one LaLiga win in its last eight matches.
The decision comes after Sevilla was beaten 2-0 at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan by Valencia on Sunday, which leaves it just three points above the relegation zone.
Almeyda was also serving a seven-game touchline ban for confronting a match official during a 1-1 draw with Alaves last month.
He oversaw 32 matches across all competitions during his 265-day tenure, winning 10 of those.
Having taken charge of at least 25 league matches at the club, Almeyda has the third-worst losing percentage as Sevilla manager in the history of LaLiga with 48.3 percent.
Only Juan Carlos Alvarez and Daucik had lost more matches in the Spanish top-flight than Almeyda, who was only appointed back in June.
