Oviedo boss Almada says Yamal 'from another galaxy'
Real Oviedo manager Guillermo Almada described Barcelona's Lamine Yamal as a "player from another galaxy" after his sensational overhead kick.
After struggling to carve open their opponent before the break, two goals in the space of five second-half minutes from Olmo and Raphinha helped the Blaugrana return to the LaLiga summit.
But Yamal took much of the acclaim, with his display seeing him become the second player in Europe's top five leagues to record more than eight goals and eight assists at home across all competitions, after Bayern Munich's Michael Olise, since last April.
The talented teenager also finished the match with team-high totals for touches in the opposition box (10), chances created (four) and total duels (15), leaving Almada in awe.
"We are talking about a player from another galaxy," Almada said when asked to evaluate Yamal's 73rd-minute strike.
"He has so much quality and delivers in key moments in games. He is already a star who, despite his age, is able to decide matches."
Yamal has registered eight goals and eight assists in LaLiga this season, a total only bettered by Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe (25 – 21 goals, four assists).
When asked about his display after the game, Flick was quick to laud Yamal's pressing that led to Olmo opening the scoring seven minutes after the restart.
"For me, much more important was what Lamine did for the first goal," he said. "The way he pressed and how he recovered the ball leading to that goal is what we want. This was the key to opening this game and the three points.
"For me, it was more important than the third goal. But, of course, everyone loves to see the goal he scored in football, and I am happy that he scored such a goal."
Barcelona has won each of its last ten home games in LaLiga, and the last time it recorded 10 or more home wins in the competition under the same manager was in December 2019 with Ernesto Valverde.
Its attention turns to the Champions League, with FC Copenhagen the visitor to Camp Nou in its final league-phase clash.
Flick's side sits ninth in the 36-team standings and will be hoping to secure a positive result to clinch a top-eight finish and automatically qualify for the last 16.
