Betis dishes up another defeat for La Real
Real Betis maintained its excellent form in LaLiga with an emphatic 3-1 win over winless Real Sociedad, a victory that moved Betis into the top four on the table.
The hosts went ahead early when Cucho Hernandez fired into the top corner in the seventh minute, but La Real hit back almost immediately when Brais Mendez put the ball into an empty net to level matters on 13 minutes after calamity at the back for Betis.
The scores remained level at the break, but only four minutes after the restart, Betis was ahead again when Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro made a hash of a corner and punched it inadvertently into his own net.
Pablo Fornals scored Betis's third, and the hosts hit the woodwork twice more in the closing stages as La Real slumped to a third straight defeat in LaLiga.
Betis will now turn its attention to a UEFA Europa League home clash with Nottingham Forest in midweek before hosting Osasuna in LaLiga next weekend.
Sociedad, meanwhile, will look to register its first win of the season against fellow struggler Real Mallorca on Thursday (AEST) before facing defending LaLiga champion Barcelona next weekend.
