Fletcher remains in the dark on United future
Darren Fletcher has revealed there have been no conversations with the Manchester United hierarchy about his future at the Old Trafford helm.
Fletcher was named as the Red Devils' interim boss after Ruben Amorim's sacking during the week, and oversaw its 2-2 draw with Burnley in the Premier League.
The former United midfielder confirmed on Thursday (AEDT) that he would be in charge of the FA Cup tie with Brighton and Hove Albion, but the club is keeping its options open in terms of appointing a permanent coach.

It has been reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick have both been identified as potential suitors to take the role on a caretaker basis until the end of the season.
"I've not, no," Fletcher said when asked if conversations had been had with United chiefs.
"I spoke to Omar [Berrada] and Jason [Wilcox], that's how the process works.
"For me, I've been focusing on the job in hand. There have been no thoughts from me on my future.
"I lead the team, guide the team, there's been no conversations outside those two people."
United welcomes Fabian Hurzeler's team to Old Trafford after going unbeaten in its past four Premier League games, although three of those results have been draws.
But the FA Cup is often a competition that United thrives in, having won the tournament 13 times, a total only bettered by Arsenal with 14 wins.
United has been knocked out in the FA Cup third round in just two of its past 40 ties at this stage, losing 1-0 to Leeds United in 2009-2010 and 2-1 to Swansea City in 2013-2014.
Fletcher, who won the competition once during his playing days with the Red Devils in 2003-2004, believes United should be aiming to try and reach the latter stages.
"It's an important competition and Manchester United are about winning trophies and I think we've had good success in the competition in recent years," he added.
"We won it a couple of years ago, and lost in the final. It's an amazing competition, it's the first trophy I won as a player. It's a special tournament.
"And you know, with the season so far, not in Europe, out of the League Cup, the FA Cup is a trophy we should be vying to win and giving ourselves every opportunity to win."
Fletcher also discussed Kobbie Mainoo's future at the club, with the midfielder linked with a move away after falling out of favour under Amorim.
"He seems in a good place. Kobbie doesn't give you much, so you never really know if he's in a good place or not," Fletcher said.
"He's like that, it's just his natural way, but I know him well, I've seen him around the building and had conversations with him.
"He's in a good place, I know Kobbie and I think he knows me. He's comfortable with his environment. He's in a good place, he's trained well."
