PSV confirms Boscagli exit amidst Brighton links
PSV has confirmed the departure of Olivier Boscagli ahead of a rumoured move to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The defender leaves PSV after the expiration of his contract, spending six years with the Dutch club.
Boscagli made 140 Eredivisie appearances during his time with PSV, keeping 37 clean sheets and directly contributing to 24 goals.
The 27-year-old Frenchman won two Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Beker trophies and three Johan Cruyff Shields.
"I want to thank everyone who has supported and helped me, both near and far," Boscagli said.
"Thanks to my team-mates, the coaches, the PSV staff and, of course, the fans. I will never forget where I came from and what I have been through: defeats, doubts, injuries, victories, celebrations and trophies. It has made me who I am today."
Boscagli has been linked with a move to Brighton, having also been of interest to the Premier League last year, too.
With his exit from PSV now settled, the Seagulls are expected to complete a move for the defender.
While Brighton is looking to bolster its squad, it is also attempting to hold on to Joao Pedro, having reportedly turned down a second bid from Newcastle United for the striker.
