Danilo late show lifts Botafogo past old foe Racing
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo's 74th-minute winner lifted Botafogo to a 2-1 win over Racing Club, the teams competing in the Copa Sudamericana just one year on from their epic Recopa Sudamericana tie, won 4-0 on aggregate by the Argentinians.
The win lifts the Botafogo to the top of Group E, off the back of three consecutive wins.
Racing, on the other hand, slipped further behind the top two, having slumped to a third-straight match without a win in the tournament.
Caracas FC splits the two rivals, having beaten Independiente Petrolero 3-2 earlier in the matchday.
