Brawl erupts after Corinthians game
A wild brawl broke out after the final whistle blew on Santa Fe's 1-1 draw with Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores, as players from the Colombian team charged towards the Brazilian club's goal-keeper, Hugo Souza, sparking an all-in confrontation.
It is believed Santa Fe's players took issue with the Brazilian shot-stopper's attempts to provoke the home fans throughout a contest that leaves their hopes of progressing from Group E all-but dashed with two matches to play.
Santa Fe sits third on two points, with two draws and two losses across its four matches, four points adrift of second-placed Platense, which has a game in hand.
Veteran Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega ignited hopes of an upset win, opening the scoring in the 59th minute.
But a well-taken header from Gustavo Enrique salvaged a draw for Corinthians, compounding furstrations for the home side, frustrations which boiled over when the final whistle blew.
