With a brace from Andre Silva, Sao Paulo defeated Alianza Lima 2-0 at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium in the fourth round of Group D in the Copa Libertadores, strengthening its lead and moving closer to the Round of 16.
The Brazilian side dominated the match from start to finish, preventing the home team from creating any real danger. Their tactical and technical superiority was clear and reflected on the scoreboard through Silva’s goals, the first coming in the 35th minute and the second in the 89th, sealing the win on a lethal counterattack.
For Alianza Lima, it was a night to forget. With no clear attacking ideas and struggling to contain the visitor, the Peruvian side finished the match with 10 men after Renzo Garces was sent off in the 69th minute.
