Burnley beat Millwall 3-1 on the final day of the EFL Championship regular season, but the Clarets were denied the title as Leeds pinched it with a late win at Plymouth Argyle.
With both sides' return to the Premier League already confirmed, the race to be crowned champions of the second tier went right down to the wire.
The two teams were level on 97 points with Leeds boasting a superior goal difference.
Josh Brownhill's brace helped Burnley come from behind to beat Millwall 3-1 at Turf Moor.
Defeat for Millwall ensured the Lions would not make it to the play-offs, and despite having to settle for second place, Burnley finished its season on a high.
The Clarets extended their unbeaten streak to 33 league games, matching Reading in 2005-2006, with only Huddersfield Town embarking on a longer run of League matches without losing outside the top tier – 43 between January and November 2011.
