Heartbreak for Hertha is relegation is confirmed
Hertha Berlin will be relegated from the Bundesliga after it conceded in stoppage-time to draw 1-1 with Bochum in a penultimate game of the season it had to win to stand any chance of survival.
After a goalless first period, Hertha finally broke through after the hour when Lucas Tousart headed a Marco Richter corner into the net.
Bochum substitute Keven Schlotterbeck hit the post via a deflection late on, before Chidera Ejuke also rattled the post for Hertha, and just when it seemed the hosts would earn the win it so desperately needed, a cruel twist saw Schlotterbeck rise to head a Kevin Stoger corner into the net in the fourth minute ofstoppage-time to condemn Hertha to the drop.
