Dortmund seals dramatic stoppage-time victory
Borussia Dortmund scored twice in second-half stoppage-time to secure a 2-0 victory over UEFA Champions League-chasing Stuttgart.
It was a cagey affair at MHPArena as Dortmund failed to find any sort of rhythm with the ball, though Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt made the difference off the bench to see Niko Kovac's side snatch a dramatic victory.
Stuttgart was on top in the first half but could not make its chances count.
Chris Fuhrich went closest to scoring when he shot straight at Gregor Kobel in the 13th minute; that was one of five shots the winger registered before the break.
The second half largely followed suit, with Lorenz Assignon testing Kobel to no avail, while Jamie Leweling and Angelo Stiller fired wide of the target as Stuttgart pushed for a winner.
However, it was Adeyemi who would become the hero at the other end, pouncing on a poor clearance in the box before shifting the ball on to his right foot and lashing into the bottom-left corner in the 94th minute.
Stuttgart's misery was compounded two minutes later, with Brandt taking down Fabio Silva's cross from the left wing and rifling in at the near post.
