Darmstadt fans fume at players after humiliating loss
Darmstadt's players were given an almighty and passionate lecture from a fan representative after capitulating horriibly to lose 6-0 at home against Augsburg in the Bundesliga.
A series of defensive errors allowed the visitors to run riot over their hosts, and the first of the half-dozen goals went in after only two minutes.
Jannik Muller attempted a switch to the left but instead played the ball straight to former team-mate Philipp Tietz, who simply had to take a touch and place the ball beyond Marcel Schuhen to score.
Augsburg threatened with every attack thereafter and netted five more goals without too much hardship from the home side.
Fredrik Jensen added the second after 12 minutes before Ermedin Demirovic scored in the 20th. Ruben Vargas made it 4-0 after 25 minutes and there wasn't even half an hour on the clock when Demirovic netted his second to make it 5-0.
Darmstadt gave a better account of itself in the second half, conceding only one more goal when Tietz added a sixth on 84 minutes, leaving his old club firmly rooted to the bottom of the league with just 13 points from 24 matches, garnered from only two wins and seven draws.
The performance was a breaking point for the most loyal fanbase, and one of their number was allowed on to the field of play to make their feelings known in no uncertain terms.
