Fenerbahce confirms agreement to sign Ake
Nathan Ake is leaving Manchester City after six trophy-laden years, with Istanbul giant Fenerbahce agreeing a deal to sign the defender.
Ake joined City from Bournemouth in 2020 and has won 12 trophies during his time at the Citizens.
That haul includes four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two Carabao Cups and the club's first UEFA Champions League crown in 2023.
Ake was a key part of Pep Guardiola's treble-winning team in that 2022-2023 campaign, playing the full 90 minutes of the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan and making 41 appearances in total that season.
Ake was always expected to follow Guardiola, midfielder Bernardo Silva and fellow centre-back John Stones through the exit door at City this off-season, having only started 17 matches last term.
The Turkish Super Lig will be his next destination, with Fenerbahce confirming it has reached agreements with both the player and City, ahead of him linking up for its pre-season preparations.
Ake made three appearances for Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as it topped a challenging group before going out to Morocco on penalties in the Round of 32.
Fenerbahce finished second in the Super Lig last season, three points behind arch-rival Galatasaray.
It has not been Turkish champion since 2013-2014, with its current 12-season title drought the longest in the club's history.
