Deportivo seals LaLiga return
Almost a decade since its relegation from LaLiga in 2017-2018, Deportivo La Coruna is back in the Spanish top flight, sealing promotion with a 2-0 win at Valladolid to spark wild celebrations among fans of the iconic Spanish club.
Depor won its last four matches of the season to secure an automatic promotion as the second-placed team, behind another iconic club, Racing Santander.
The third spot in next season's LaLiga will go to one of Almeria, Las Palmas, Malaga and Castellon - home of Socceroos attacker Awer Mabil.
The promotion marks the end of a tumultuous decade for Deportivo la Coruna, which spent four seasons mired in the Spanish third division, before beinf promoted back to LaLiga 2 in 24/25.
Depor fans would no doubt beliueve the club - winner of LaLiga in 1999-2000 - is back where it belongs.
