Cazorla stunner puts Oviedo on cusp of LaLiga
A brillint free kick from veteran attacker Santi Cazorla lifted Oviedo to the LaLiga Promotion play-off final via a 1-1 (3-2) aggregate win over UD Almeria.
With the visitor leading 1-0 and the match appearing destined for extra time, the 40 year-old former Arsenal and Villarreal star was brought on at halftime to rapturous applause from the home crowd.
Cazorla wasted little time making an impact, blasting a free kick through the wall and into the bottom right-hand corner.
Almeria pushed hard for a tie-equalising goal, hitting the woodwork twice in 5 minutes suring a relentless stretch midway through the half, but Oviedo held on to set up a play-off for the final spot in the 25/26 LaLiga, against either Real Racing Club or Mirandes.
