Birmingham sinks Sevilla in style
Birmingham City began its pre-season in fine style with a 3-1 victory over LaLiga club Sevilla as the two played a friendly fixture at Estadio Algarve in Portugal.
Keshi Anderson got things started for the Blues with ninth-minute strike before skipper Christoph Klarer made it 2-0 on 25 minutes as Sevilla failed to clear a corner.
Nico Guillen pulled one back for the Spanish side on 76 minutes, pouncing on a dreadful error from Birmingham goalkeeper James Beadle.
But Marc Leonard scored the goal of the game with a stunning free-kick on 87 minutes that flew into the top corner and earned Birmingham a resounding win that will give it much hope heading into the new EFL Championship season.
