Liverpool rejects $A148 million Coutinho bid
Liverpool is set to keep playmaker Philippe Coutinho after rejecting a $A148 million bid from Barcelona.
Coutinho has been linked with Barcelona since the transfer window opened in June, but Liverpool has no interest in cashing in on the 25 year-old.
Barcelona's $A118 million bid was rebuffed last month, but the Spanish giant has stepped up its interest in the Coutinho after fellow Brazilian Neymar completed a world record move to PSG.
However, the Reds look set to hang onto their star man, who signed a new five-year deal reportedly worth $A246,00 per week in January.
Last week, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ruled out selling Coutinho to Barcelona.
"I'm not surprised that any club is interested in players at Liverpool. We are not a selling club," he said.
"We want to make the next step together and for that we need to stay together."
