Tuchel: "Gnabry Will Play Against Madrid and Will Score"
Bayern Munich's coach assured that the forward will be ready for Tuesday's Champions League semifinal first leg against Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel said on Friday that forward Serge Gnabry will be ready for next Tuesday's match against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, and he predicted that Gnabry will play and score after recovering from a muscle injury.
"He will be ready for Tuesday. He will play and he will score," Tuchel said on Friday during a press conference ahead of tomorrow's Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
With the Bundesliga already lost to Bayer Leverkusen, Tuchel didn't hide the fact that the team's focus is not on tomorrow's match but on the Champions League duel. "We don't have to pretend that we're only thinking about Eintracht," he said.
As such, the match against Eintracht should be seen as part of the preparation for the Champions League semifinal, although it's clear that the starting lineup tomorrow won't be the same as the one against Real Madrid.
Leroy Sané is in the process of recovery and is practically ruled out for this Saturday and is questionable for the Real Madrid game. "We have to assess the situation day by day. He is training individually after the treatment phase," Tuchel said regarding Sané.
Jamal Musiala, who rested during last week's match against Union Berlin, will return to the team. "Jamal is a key player, against any opponent and in any circumstance," Tuchel said.
