The Semifinal Fallout: Tchouaméni Injured
The Frenchman exited the second leg semi-final match between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich with a previously known injury.
After pulling off an epic comeback as we've come to expect from the white club, Aurélien Tchouaméni left the field at the end of the match with a stress injury in his left foot, as confirmed by the Spanish club: "Following tests conducted today on our player, Aurélien Tchouaméni, by the medical services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with a stress injury in his left foot. Pending evolution," commented the Real Madrid coaching staff.
The Frenchman left the match in the 70th minute and was replaced by Eduardo Camavinga, after Alphonso Davies scored for the German side. However, with the Champions League final scheduled for June 1st, Tchouaméni's injury shouldn't pose any danger of preventing the player from participating.
On the other hand, the danger is always there, especially when it comes from an injury in the same foot that sidelined him for 47 days, preventing him from playing any matches for both Real Madrid and the French national team, missing a total of 11 games.
As mentioned in the medical report by the Madrid team, the injury will be monitored for progression, and the return of the French player remains uncertain at the moment.
