The Fifteenth Could Be the Most Mystical for Real Madrid
The European giant and the most successful winner of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid, will play another final of the tournament against Borussia Dortmund, aiming to claim their fifteenth "Orejona", this time at the football cathedral, the "Wembley Stadium".
Madrid has 14 victories in finals, with eight of those played consecutively since 1998, with only three losses before, the last one being in 1981, over 40 years ago.
Doing it at Wembley makes it even more special, as it would be their first at this venue, since out of the 14 Champions League titles they have, they were won as follows:
- Three in Paris
- Two in Glasgow
- Two in Brussels
- One each in: Madrid, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Cardiff, and Kiev
For this, Madrid has an asset who already knows what it means to be a champion at Wembley, Toni Kroos, remembering that he was crowned champion with Bayern Munich against the same Dortmund, the next opponent for Madrid. Now, the Whites will seek to add the English capital to their list of countries where they have been crowned champions in the top club competition.
