Madrid Strikes First Against Bayern Before Match
Oliver Kahn, the former German goalkeeper of Bayern Munich, will be present at the Champions League second leg semi-final at the Santiago Bernabéu thanks to an invitation from Real Madrid.
The legendary former German goalkeeper of Bayern, Oliver Kahn, will be at the Santiago Bernabéu to witness the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. However, the invitation to the match didn't come from the Bavarian team, but from the Madrid board, which granted Khan a special invitation for the game.
As reported by "Bild", due to the strained relationship Khan has with the German team, the former goalkeeper didn't receive an invitation to attend the match, and the Real Madrid board found out and wanted to make a nice gesture to Khan by inviting him to see the renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu and to watch the second leg match between Madrid and Bayern.
The bad relationship between Khan and Bayern started primarily a year ago, precisely in May, when he was dismissed from his position as managing director, and things became tense between both parties, a situation that has not been resolved to date.
Likewise, Khan thanked the gesture of the Real Madrid board and posted the following words on his social media: "I am still very involved in the football world and, as my heart beats for Bayern, I am looking forward to attending a great game tonight. It is also a great pleasure to reconnect with legendary players and colleagues who have a connection to this classic," wrote Khan.
