Last Champions League Dance at Bernabéu?
Modric, Kroos, Nacho, or Lucas Vázquez may face their last European match with Real Madrid at home. Carvajal hopes it isn't.
Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Nacho Fernández, or Lucas Vázquez, all five-time Champions League winners, may face their last European match at the Santiago Bernabéu with Real Madrid in the return leg of the semifinals against Bayern. This was admitted by Dani Carvajal, who hopes at least one of them will renew their contract set to expire on June 30.
"It's hard to know each one's situation and what will happen. We're focused on the end of the season, and that will come in due course. I'm very happy here. It's true that you have to enjoy every game, and unfortunately, tomorrow might be the last Champions League game at the Bernabéu for some of my teammates," he responded when asked about Modric, Nacho, Kroos, or Lucas Vázquez.
Carvajal hopes that if it is their last European game at the Madrid stadium, they can celebrate with a new ticket to the Champions League final. "Hopefully, we can achieve a Madrid victory and enjoy it together."
Carvajal reflected on what he has achieved with Modric, Nacho, Kroos, and Lucas Vázquez as the holdovers of the last decade in which Real Madrid won five of the last ten editions of the Champions League.
"The demands of this club make it necessary to reset each season and fight for everything. I arrived 11 years ago, and we've had an incredible decade in terms of titles. I hope we continue to extend it starting tomorrow," he expressed.
