Conceiçao Accuses Arteta of Insulting His Family, Arsenal Denies It
The Porto coach stated that the Spanish manager insulted him during the match, although Arsenal denied that such a situation occurred.
The Porto coach, Sergio Conceiçao, accused Mikel Arteta on Tuesday of insulting him during the Champions League match, something Arsenal denies.
According to the Portuguese coach, Arteta insulted his bench in Spanish during the match. "He insulted my family," said the Portuguese coach in the press conference after the match in which Arsenal advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals after the penalty shootout.
"He should focus on coaching his team. The result was unfair, we deserved to advance," he added.
Sources from Arsenal told EFE that it is not true that Arteta insulted Conceiçao and pointed out that this is not the first time such a situation has occurred with the Porto coach, who has accused Thomas Tuchel, for example, of similar actions.
Arteta was asked about the confrontation with the Portuguese that took place after the match and declined to comment.
