Galatasaray Knock on Sergio Ramos' Door
According to reports in Turkey, the current leader of the Süper Lig is negotiating with the agent of the former Real Madrid player and current Sevilla center-back.
Galatasaray is on the verge of clinching the Süper Lig title and already has an eye on the next season. With the Champions League as a major challenge, the Turkish leader is already thinking about reinforcements and has set its sights on Sergio Ramos.
This is reported by Fotomaç from Turkey, which explains that Galatasaray has shown interest in the Sevilla center-back amid the likely departure of Danish defender Victor Nelsson, who has received several offers.
The former Real Madrid player signed a one-year contract with the Andalusian club last summer, making him a free agent from June 30 onwards.
The Turkish club has already contacted Sergio Ramos' brother and agent, and although the player may not have asked for an astronomical salary, Galatasaray's offer would improve the wage he currently receives at Sevilla.
An Old Suitor
This is not the first time Galatasaray has pursued Sergio Ramos' signing. They attempted to do so last season, albeit unsuccessfully. The central defender waited for Sevilla until the last moment because his dream was to return to the club where he developed and became known.
Now, with his desire to play in the Champions League next season, something that would be much more achievable with Galatasaray than with Sevilla, his move to "Galata" seems closer than ever to happening.
