Clean-Up at United: Only Three Players Spared
The British team's rough seasons combined with their failure to qualify for the 2024-2025 Champions League are the reasons Manchester United wants to clean house.
It's bad news for Erik Ten Hag's team as Manchester United is set for a major shake-up of players and coaching staff due to the team's poor results in recent seasons, especially with no Champions League qualification on the horizon for the Red Devils.
However, only three players are virtually untouchable and off the transfer list for the upcoming transfer window: Rasmus Hojlund (21 years old), Alejandro Garnacho (19 years old), and Kobie Mainoo (19 years old).
Moreover, considering the massive investment of nearly 500 million euros in transfers over the last three seasons and the failure to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League, Manchester United is finding it challenging to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations while also splurging on new signings.
Additionally, the Red Devils are considering a 25% reduction in player salaries, a situation they may have to accept as it's stipulated in each player's contract. Ten Hag is on the lookout for a central defender, a midfielder, and a right winger for his team in the upcoming season, although the possibility of another manager taking charge of the team is not ruled out.
