"Poor" Manchester United Face Premier League Abyss
Manchester United may miss out on Europe after a disappointing end to the season; Ten Hag is very critical.
Manchester United is enduring, and that is the appropriate term, enduring a season to forget, one that could leave the Red Devils out of European competition next season.
After suffering an embarrassing defeat against Crystal Palace, United has accumulated 18 losses across all competitions this season. This is the most losses since the 1977-1978 season when they recorded 19.
Currently, according to Opta data, United has a 58.6% chance of finishing outside the top seven positions in the Premier League, which would mean missing out on European competition next season.
If that happens, United's last chance would be to win the FA Cup. The problem: they face Manchester City in the final.
Despite highlighting the major defensive problems United has faced lately, Ten Hag described their performance against Palace as "very poor."
With 54 points after 35 games, United currently sits in eighth place, tied with Chelsea. The Red Devils must significantly improve if they hope to play in Europe next season.
