Messi and Suárez Lead MLS Team of the Week
The American league announced the team of the week, and after both the Argentinian and the Uruguayan scored braces, they couldn't be absent.
Argentine Lionel Messi and Uruguayan Luis Suárez, who each scored a brace on Saturday in Inter Miami's 5-0 victory over Orlando, are featured in this Monday's MLS Team of the Week.
Messi, who was also included in the best eleven of weeks one and two of the American league, repeats in the top lineup announced by MLS after starting the season with three goals in three matches.
The Argentine didn't score in the debut against Real Salt Lake but netted a goal to salvage a draw at Los Angeles Galaxy (1-1) and scored two goals against Orlando in the 'Florida Classic' (5-0).
In the MLS's ideal offensive trident, Luis Suárez entered for the first time, opening his MLS goal account with two goals against Orlando.
"I'm very happy for him to have been able to score, we already know what Luis is capable of doing, everyone knows. When you least expect it, he resolves the game for you," Messi said after the Orlando match, analyzing Suárez's performance.
Argentine Lucho Acosta from Cincinnati, who provided an assist in his team's victory against Chicago Fire, also made it into the Team of the Week.
Additionally, Colombian Andrés Gómez, who was instrumental with a goal and an assist in Real Salt Lake's victory against Los Angeles FC (3-0), is part of the week's best lineup.
