The Magnitude of Barcelona's New Camp Nou
The new Spotify Camp Nou will debut with a capacity for 60,000 spectators (60% of the total) and with two of the three planned stands, as confirmed by Barcelona president Joan Laporta during a site visit conducted by the board on Wednesday.
Laporta led the Barcelona delegation on the third site visit. The last one took place in November, and since then, the renovation has progressed as planned.
The recent actions have focused on the pillars of the structure of the new third stand and have continued with a series of repairs on the first and second stands, as reported by the club.
In statements to Catalan media, Laporta explained that everything is "going as planned." "Everything is moving forward, and soon we will be able to make the facilities available to the members of Barça. It's very emotional because it will make Barça have the best stadium in the world, a unique stadium," he insisted.
The leader spoke of the return of activity with two renovated stands, with a capacity for approximately 60,000 spectators. "I am very proud of how the work is progressing," he indicated.
"The foundations of the third stand are already being laid, the two stands we have now, the first and second, are on track to have the seats installed, and everything is being leveled," he commented.
Laporta expressed satisfaction because these advancements are the result of a decision made knowing that fans would understand it because it was "a dream of Barcelona," to have "the best stadium in the world."
"A collective dream of Barcelona is coming true, and it's very exciting. It's history, the result of the decision we made at the time, but also of the understanding of the members and fans, who knew we had to sacrifice to achieve it," he said.
